How the Reverse BMI Formula Works

The standard BMI formula is:

BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height² (m)

To reverse it and solve for weight, multiply both sides by height²:

Goal Weight = Target BMI × height² (m)

For example, if you're 170 cm (1.7 m) tall and want a BMI of 22: your goal weight = 22 × 1.7² = 22 × 2.89 = 63.6 kg (140 lbs).
